Money as art object - in St. Catherine's Church

From 17th to 31st of July 2014 different works of art with the topic "money" will be shown inside St. Catherine's Church. Among them the money Mobile "equilibrium analysis" by Ralf Kopp, wich visualizes complex relationships.

Money - every day we deal with it. It's not countable how often every day our thoughts revolve about money. We are rarely aware of these thoughts. Money is taken for granted. But everyone has their own position towards it. It is necessary. It is hated, loved, despised, venerated - depending on your perspective. And money has power. Cicero brought it approximately to the point as follows: "Nothing is so firmly secured that it could not be conquered with money."

Is the character per se corruptible with money? Or is money "coined liberty" as Fyodor Dostoyevsky called it? How are we involved in the flow of money? Where and how do we influence it? At which point are we aware of money, not as a means to an end, but as an entity?

These are the questions of the exhibition. The exhibition and the experiment will take place in the framework of the "MACHTMENSCHENMÄRKTE (PEOPLE POWER MARKETS)" program of the Evangelical Academy in Frankfurt.

The exhibition "Greed devours: TRUST" will be opened on 17th of July 2014 at 12:00 in St. Catherine's Church Frankfurt with a comment to the artwork by Dr. Ursula Schoen in the program "Lunch and Lecture".

The exhibition in St. Catherine's Church is open from
